US government breif on Canada for 2004 visit
I think the next time my friends visit from the US I will have to send this document to make sure they are up to snuff with Canadian customs:

It is actually kind of flattering.

Talk about forward thinking. Is sad to see how little has been done in 30 years though.

I love Rick Mercer…
“Yes, it’s been a crazy week and it could also be a tipping point. Because Stephen Harper has always had one ace in the hole: his reputation as a straight shooter. Well you can wave that goodbye; because when it comes to preserving reputations, Conrad Black had a better week.”

lyrebird with David Attenborough
I love David Attenborough’s narrations. This bird is pretty amazing. The camera clicks, and the car alarm are just classic!

Water Shortages the Next Big Issue?
Two days ago I was watching on the national a really good piece on how California is starting to run out of water, and what they are doing to combat that. It went into depth about the issue, how it came about, and why there is really no quick fix. Check out the segment here:
http://www.cbc.ca/national/blog/video/internationalus/california_dry_1.html
Today at AlterNet I noticed an interview with fellow Canadian Maude Barlow talking about her new book which is all about the water crisis we are starting to see. She says that already in 36 states we are seeing massive water shortages, and that if things continue the way they are it will only get worse. Check out here interview at AlterNet at:

And also pickup her new book called Blue Covenant: The Global Water Crisis and the Coming Battle for the Right to Water.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Lester sent me a couple links the last couple of days to some youtube videos of people coming up with some innovative moves to Daft Punks Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.
Personally I think the Daft Hands is better, but both are pretty exceptional.
