I think they reversed themselves, but it doesn’t change the fact they tried it and may do so again…

Highly doubtful. As of today as soon as you login to facebook they have begun to post right away information about how you can vote on their new regulations. What does regulations may be, are still up for debate.
Why would they want to change their policies? They could make so much money off selling peoples information!
Another vindication for my continued Facebook abstinence.
