My Morning Jacket – Touch Me I’m Going To Scream pt 2

I find that often times songs won’t hit me initially. It often takes a change of mood or scenery for a song to really kick in. Before Bonnaroo I had listened to MMJ’s Evil Urges a few times, but I really hadn’t let the album sink in at all. I liked the song Touch Me I’m Going To Scream, however it didn’t blow me away at the time.

However at Bonnaroo leaving the Superjam session and finding MMJ still on stage with the rain pouring, closing in on what would be close to a 4 hour set, this song just really hit me. They just started into it (this was their second last song of the show) and after all the shows I had seen that day, this song just seemed to hit me musically.

Since getting home from Bonnaroo I have been listening to this song non stop, probably my favorite of Evil Urges. Anyway checkout their performance of it on Conan:
